It was a great weekend of racing for the Nerac Pro Cycling team winning two local New England races. On Saturday a small team took part in the downtown Claremont Criterium. The race started fast from the gun and Pat Walsh was able to ride away from the field with three others. The foursome quickly lapped the field and then it was all kept together by the work of Adam Myerson and Alec Donahue. Going into the last couple of laps Pat took an unfamiliar role as the sprinter for the day. To everyone’s surprise he not only one the race but also won the field sprint behind the great lead-out from Adam and Alex.

What a weekend for the Nerac Pro Cycling Team. The weekend started off with the Rochester Twilight Criterium. The race is in its fourth year and what a race it is. This year the event was upgraded to UCI 1.2 status and is part of the inagural US Pro Tour.
This was an important race for the team and although we were short staffed going into the event due to some illness the team rose to the occasion. Within minutes of the start Chris Jones joined Navigatores Hilton Clark and Kyle Wamsley, Kodak’s Domonique Rolling and Mark Walters, and Symmetrics Canadian Criterium champion Cameron Evans.

It is the second time this season that the Nerac Pro Cycling Team swept the podium. This time it was at the Sterling road race another classic New England race. Most of the guys were back together this weekend from the USA Crit series and the Tour of Virginia. After the hard racing that the guys have been doing we were expecting to have a good day. However it wasn’t going to be easy as there were other pro’s represented in the field from Colavita and Kelly Benefits.
